Since all of this is within the D: No proprietary scanned formats are used-the documents are saved as Adobe PDF files. You can rename it and drag it to a cabinet. When a document is scanned it shows up in the main folder as a PDF. Using the taskbar icon you can easily change the drive and path where documents are scanned to. If that's possible, I haven't been able to figure it out yet. An option to either have the stack go to one file, or the stack go to separate files. If there's a way to make it put each sheet in a stack to a separate file, that's the one thing I'd like. I've been using it for about 18 months now and scan hundreds of documents every month. I bought it to scan paper: It works fantastic for all of that. So, I never had any expectation of using it to scan photos.
In all, worth every penny if you want to scan lots of documents.

And besides that it is a document scanner. I have not scanned any pictures with it since the resolution may not be as good, in addition I still have my Epson around.
